The 2011 Illinois History Symposium will be held at Morris Library on the campus of Southern Illinois University at Carbondale April 14-16. The theme this year commemorates the 150th anniversary of the beginning of the Civil War, and explores Illinois' role in the early years of the national conflict. Lectures, panels, papers, videos, workshops, discussions, tours, demonstrations, and much more are offered. Continuing Professional Development Units (CPDUs) will be available to teachers who attend the Symposium; 1 credit hour is offered for every session hour. Registration is required.
